On Sunday, November 12th we will have one worship service at 11 am.  District Superintendent Rev. Kathleen Webster will join us for worship, and she will conduct our Charge Conference, the annual business meeting of the congregation, immediately afterwards in the Family Life Center.  This is an opportunity for the congregation to discuss our goals and to celebrate the progress we have made.  A light lunch (chicken salad croissants, soup, chips & cookies) will be served by the Fun & Fellowship team.  This is a very important event in the life of our church — please plan to attend!

Poinsettias for Advent

posted Nov 2, 2017, 10:45 AM by FUMC Webmaster

Poinsettias will be placed in the sanctuary for the Advent season.   You are invited to purchase one or more poinsettias in memory or in honor of someone.  The cost will be $7.00 for each one.  Please put the money in the offering plate or give it to Paige Ware.  Write ‘poinsettias’ on the memo line of your check and make it payable to FUMC.  Paige has placed a sign-up sheet in the narthex to use in designating those who you wish to honor or memorialize with your poinsettias.
Paige has also placed a sign-up sheet for the 2018 flower calendar in the narthex.  Please considering signing up to  provide flowers for the sanctuary for a Sunday in 2018.  Flowers can be purchased from Cahoon's Florist in Fincastle, and they will deliver the arrangements to the church.   Or, you can use your own flowers, potted plants, or greenery; a key can be borrowed from the church office if you wish to place your own flowers before the Sunday services.
